About Bandarban
Bandarban is the highest district in Bangladesh, home to Keokradong (the country's highest peak) and Nafakhum (its largest waterfall). Winding through the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the region is a mosaic of jungle-covered hills, crystal-clear rivers, and vibrant tribal communities — the Marma, Bawm, Mro, and Tripura peoples have called these forests home for centuries.
The adventure scene here is unmatched in Bangladesh. Multi-day treks take you deep into the wilderness via Thanchi, Ruma, and Alikadam. The Sangu and Matamuhuri rivers carry boat rides through gorges that feel like another country. Between the trekking routes lie hidden waterfalls, remote hilltop camps, and night skies unmarked by light pollution.
Bandarban is best visited October through March when the trails are dry and the skies are clear. Monsoon season (June–September) transforms the landscape with heavy mist and roaring waterfalls — spectacular, but harder to navigate.
